Okay, I'm going to say this once, an I don't want to ever have to say it ever again.
Do not
NOT
NOT
:bulletblue: NOT
NOT
NOT
DO NOT pressure an artist, writer, cosplayer, Rper, ect. to do something they are uncomfortable with.  Just don't.  Here's a list of reasons why:
1. It makes them want to stop
2. It makes them angry
3. It makes them want to ignore you
4. It doesn't make them like you
5. They get frustrated
6. They get depressed
7. You look like an asshole
Do I need to go on?
I'll give you a personal account.
I'm a fanfic writer as some of you may know.  Recently I had someone try and pressure me into taking my last project in a direction I didn't want to go.  I tried to explain that I plan my stories out in a pretty detailed way to begin with, and knew exactly how my story was going to progress, but they insisted.  I felt terrible.  I felt like I wasn't good enough, like what I had to give wasn't enough for this person.  In fact, I was so upset that I put off finishing my story for two whole days.  Not to mention I was already having a pretty bad week.  I honestly felt like there was no way I could be nice and get her to stop, but finally she let it go.  I'm not even all that popular, either.  I don't even want to think about popular fanfic writers, who have people try this every day.

There are times when asking a writer or cosplayer or artist for something specific are okay, like when she's asking for ideas or taking requests.  But if a creator says no, you should understand that pressuring them is a great way to ruin everything they've worked on.

I don't really care if you copy and paste this places; in fact, I'd encourage you to do so!  Or maybe come up with your own PSA because this is getting out of hand.  So please remember that artists, writers, and rolepayers are people and not your personal wish machines.  They have their own set of skills and should be able to express themselves with their work without people managing and overseeing them.

And before I end my rant, if you feel like someone is pressuring you, decline.  Kindly, but decline.  If you let them win, if you give in, it will only become worse.  The pressure will increase.  And it may no longer be fun.  They may get offended.  They may un-Watch you, but personally, I feel my creative voice is worth expressing, regardless of who hears it.  But the choice is yours.  You may have to decide whether expressing your work is worth losing a Watcher or two.

As I'm typing this, I realize i may com across as extremely rude and pompous, but to be honest, I don't care.  This needs to stop because it is destructive.
Also, I feel the need to say that I am not angry with the person who did this to me anymore.  I've had my vent, and I'm not too upset anymore.  All I ask is that it not happen again.  If you think I might be talking about you, you're probably wrong.  If you know it's you, please don't start anything with me.  I am over it, and I would even look forward to being your friend in the future if you can just respect me and my attempts at my craft, and I will try and do the same for you.
